Born in San Mateo, California, Naroditsky learned chess at age six from his father. His rise was rapid — he became the youngest player to win the Northern California K–12 Chess Championship, and in 2007 he captured gold at the World Youth (U12). He earned the Grandmaster title in 2013 at 18, and reached a peak rating of 2647 in 2017. His thoughtful playing style and deep knowledge made him one of America’s most respected talents.
